Good Neighbours x Capitec handmadeAFRICA
Sunday 13 October
NIROX Sculpture Park
Cradle of Humankind, Gauteng
Good Neighbours is a continuing NIROX programme reaching out to the people of Africa.
It began in 2021 with the idea that there is a Hidden Thread that binds the continent despite its artificial borders, expressed through exhibitions and residencies with artists from Morocco and South Africa, followed in 2022 by exhibitions and residencies from South Africa’s immediate neighbours.
This year’s Good Neighbours is hosted and curated with Tawanda Gwasera, celebrating music, design, poetry, fashion and food from the continent, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Nigeria, Eswatini, Morocco, Mozambique, Kenya, Egypt and South Africa.
Capitec handmadeAFRICA is a new boutique retail concept that brings the continent’s best ethically and sustainably produced contemporary design to South Africa. It is a nomadic shopping experience thoughtfully curated to bring an additional design dimension to much-loved events on annual calendars around the country. Capitec handmadeAFRICA connects creators to new markets, because they understand the value of offering a tactile first-hand opportunity for shoppers to purchase collectable Pan-African design, discovering new talent and emerging creators.
The music programme features:
The Epicurean Emporium will provide a fresh offering of African-inspired culinary options, including Mpho Phalane’s Food, I Love You pop-up restaurant under the trees.
Bernie’s Bar will extend its curated selection of beverages to include African beers and African-inspired cocktails.
Tickets available at www.niroxarts.com are limited to ensure NIROX’ intimate setting is maintained.
Early-Bird Tickets are R500 per adult.
General Admission Tickets are R600 per adult.
Final Admission Tickets are R750 per adult.
